Terminology

• Identified Component: Human-readable name of a component.
• Element: A IFC Element, like IfcWall or IfcDoor.
• Subtype: A specific classification within an element. Subtypes are defined using PredefwnedType or ObjectType.
  • PredefinedType: A standard set of classifications defined in the IFC schema.
  • ObjectType: A custom classification use to define subtypes not covered by PredefinedType.
• DataType: In this dictionary, DataTypes are simplified.
  • Real: An integer or floating-point number (decimal).
  • Boolean: True/False values.
  • Label: Text with 255 characters limit.
• Enumeration Values: A predefined list of acceptable values for a property.
